Project: Mahoe Park Playground
Client: Hamilton City Council
An established suburb in south Hamilton, Melville needed some serious play solutions. The community had long outgrown the existing playground at Mahoe Park and, with the increasing growth of the southern suburbs, it was time for a play destination that the community could be proud of.
The bright new build capped off a three-stage development by Hamilton City Council that included sports grounds and car parking and was the last piece of the puzzle that has children fizzing and ready for fun.
Mahoe Park Playground was designed by Bespoke Landscape Architects; Playground Creations then constructed and installed world-class equipment to bring this play vision to life.
The playground features a host of Playground Creations components, from perennial favourites like swings and slides, to the Spidergon and Coconut Wriggle from our Natural Play Range. Combine all this with bright pops of colour and the magic of play is ignited!
Utilising natural shade from the existing tree canopy along with shade sails and picnic tables ensured the space was not only fun for families, but practical too.
Scale, swing, conquer, and climb! Every playground piece has been designed with purpose for children to not only have fun but gain confidence and develop skills through play.
The new monkey bars, nets, and climbing tower provide opportunities to build strength and utilise problem solving skills, while our popular talking tubes are great for encouraging social interaction.
Swings refine balance, co-ordination, and control, and the wobbly challenge of the coconut wriggle guarantees a giggle from players and spectators alike!
Created together with our project partners, this valuable community asset sparks the magic of play in the Melville community.
