The Ground
Beach Road Playground lives up to its name. Situated right by the sea in Whangamata, the rolling waves of the ocean were always going to influence the seaside themed design of this new playground.

A playground of sorts has always been on this site, but years of play meant a refreshed design was required. Playground Creations were commissioned by Thames Coromandel District Council to give the playground a fun new look.
 
The Creation
The beachside location of this playground gave the Playground Creations team the perfect excuse to get creative. Working within strict budgets and restrictive footprints, thatched beach huts were built to provide much needed shade, while boats were designed to reflect the marine environment. Complemented with a variety of swings, and a unique oversized wooden picture frame, Beach Road playground has become an iconic destination for the holiday family snap!
 
The Play
Whangamata locals, visitors and holidaymakers alike now flock to Beach Road Playground for morning play, picnics and evening activity. The project, which had to be delivered within a strict budget and restrictive footprint, has given the community great value for money and a playground that evokes plenty of compliments and smiles.
